Learn cards are monthly training topics focused on a specific topic that reinforces safe behaviors and reminds employees of risks and opportunities in their environment.
Excel
Excel cards are awarded to individuals based on their performance of specific behaviors, like wearing the appropriate PPE correctly, attending a tailgate safety meeting, or attending a safety dinner. Excel gives you a chance to say, "Here's what you did right, and this is why it's important. Thanks for that!"

In your regular team meetings at the beginning of each month, read and discuss the Learn topic with your team using the posters provided. Encourage your team to complete the Learn quiz to earn points.
How You'll Use It
Throughout your workday, watch for team members performing safe behaviors. When you see them performing one of the behaviors, or doing something else that deserves recognition, give them an Excel card!

Best Practices
Learn and Excel are tools for delivering positive reinforcement. The key to making positive reinforcement effective is delivering it as soon as possible.

Learn quizzes should be completed early in the month. If it's possible, try to get your team to complete the quiz during or immediately after the safety meeting.

Excel cards should be delivered throughout the course of the work, when behavior is observed. At the earliest (and safest) convenience, send them an Excel card! Aim to send each employee 3-4 Excel cards per month.

Use the Messages center in your account to keep track of your SmartCard distribution. This helps you reach your engagement goals and ensures that no one on your team is overlooked.

1. How do I earn points?
Every time you award an Excel or Learn card and take the Learn quiz, you'll earn points you can redeem for items in the AOE Rewards catalog! You may also receive points from your manager.
2. Do points expire?
Nope! You can save or spend your points however you choose. We can even help you transfer points from your account to a coworker's.
3. Where will my orders be delivered?
Orders will be delivered to your home address, so be sure that you put the address you receive packages in your profile when you create your account.
